- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 bananas)
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Beat in the egg, followed by the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until no visible flour remains.
- Stir in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each dollop.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Can prepare the dough ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Customize by mixing in nuts or using dried fruits instead of chocolate chips.
