Description

Rich and chewy blondies with a delightful cinnamon-sugar swirl, perfect for cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar, for the swirls
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (for swirl)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar mixed with 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth, then add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture.
  4. For the cinnamon swirl, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  5. Coat the baking pan with melted butter and sprinkle a portion of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Pour half of the blondie batter into the pan, sprinkle half of the remaining cinnamon-sugar, then add the rest of the batter and top with remaining butter and cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack, slice, and serve.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a 1:1 gluten-free baking blend.
