A delicious and tender beef chuck roast cooked in a sweet and tangy honey balsamic sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients

- 3–4 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper, then sear it in the skillet until browned on all sides.
- In a bowl, mix together honey, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, and minced garlic.
- Place the sliced onion at the bottom of the crockpot.
- Transfer the seared beef roast to the crockpot on top of the onions.
- Pour the honey balsamic mixture over the roast.
- Add beef broth to the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the beef is tender.
- Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks and mix it with the sauce before serving.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or over rice for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- This dish can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
