Description
Delightful henna-themed snacks that celebrate culture and creativity with a fusion of earthy, sweet, and savory flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Chickpeas (canned or soaked and cooked)
- 2 tsp Cumin
- 2 tsp Coriander
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 2 tbsp Fresh Mint (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsp Fresh Cilantro (finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup Yogurt or Tahini
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the Chickpeas: If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight and cook until tender. Canned chickpeas require a rinse and a drain before use.
- Season the Mixture: In a food processor, combine the chickpeas with spices like cumin, coriander, and finely chopped mint. Blend until the mixture holds together but retains some texture.
- Shape the Snacks: Form the mixture into small bite-sized balls or patties.
- Cook the Snacks: Heat oil in your frying pan and gently place the snacks in batches. Allow them to cook until golden brown, flipping carefully to achieve an even crispness on all sides.
- Make the Dip: Whisk yogurt with minced garlic, lemon juice, and fresh herbs for a cooling dip.
- Serve & Enjoy: Arrange your snacks on a beautiful platter with the dip in the center.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. For longer storage, freeze the un-cooked shaped snacks.
