- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 slices thick-cut bacon
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 burger buns (brioche or rustic)

Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Caramelize the onions in the same skillet until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
- Form the ground beef into four equal patties, making indents in the center. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook the patties in the skillet or grill for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
- Add a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking.
- Toast the burger buns in a separate pan with melted butter until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers: start with the bun, then add the beef patty, crispy bacon, and caramelized onions. Add any optional toppings.
