Ingredients

- 1 package of puff pastry
- 2 cups of milk
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of cornstarch
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into rectangles.
- Place half of the rectangles on a baking sheet and bake until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat until thickened.
- Remove from heat and whisk in egg yolks and vanilla extract.
- Let the custard cool slightly before spreading it over the baked pastry.
- Top with the remaining pastry rectangles.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use whole milk instead of low-fat milk.
- Chill the custard for a firmer texture.
- Can be served with fresh berries for added flavor.
