- 1 ball of pizza dough
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or crushed San Marzano tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked spicy Italian sausage (crumbled)
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Hot honey, for drizzling
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with your pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
- Shape your dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough onto parchment paper on a pizza peel or lined baking sheet.
- Add the pizza sauce, mozzarella, crumbled sausage, and ricotta cheese.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- Finish with a drizzle of hot honey and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
Pizza dough can be prepared a day in advance. Customize with additional toppings if desired. Avoid overworking the dough for the best texture.
