Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the cinnamon roll dough package instructions.
- Blend the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Dust countertop with flour and roll out the cinnamon roll dough into a rectangle.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle sliced strawberries decoratively over the cream cheese layer.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log, tucking the filling inside as you go.
- Slice the roll into even pieces, about 1 to 1.5 inches thick.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish with space in between.
- Brush the tops with a beaten egg or milk if desired.
- Bake according to package instructions or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
Notes
For a lighter filling, substitute cream cheese with Neufchâtel cheese. You can also use other fruit fillings such as raspberries or blueberries.
