Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (for the sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (for the sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons warm water (to adjust sauce consistency)
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted
  • 1 cup shredded carrot
  • 1 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, green onions, cilantro, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, lime juice, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Form the mixture into four equal patties, ensuring they are slightly thicker in the center.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat and lightly oil the surface.
  4. Cook the patties for about 5 to 6 minutes on each side until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. Whisk together peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, honey, and sriracha in a separate bowl, adding warm water as needed.
  6. Spread peanut sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun, top with a turkey patty, additional peanut sauce, and a pile of shredded carrot, cucumber slices, cilantro leaves, and red onion.
  7. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with extra peanut sauce on the side.

Notes

Make patties in advance and refrigerate for quick grilling later. Customize toppings based on preference.
