Description

A deliciously rich and moist white German chocolate cake with a creamy cheesecake center, perfect for any celebration.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and lemon juice until smooth.
  8. Divide half of the cake batter into the prepared pans, then spoon the cheesecake mixture on top, followed by the remaining cake batter.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can mix in some vanilla extract into the cheesecake layer.
  • Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for best results.
  • Decorate with additional coconut and pecans on top if desired.
