Description

Delight in the crispy seasoned fish nestled in warm tortillas, topped with a refreshing cilantro lime slaw for a perfect summer meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lb tilapia or white fish (mahi-mahi, cod, etc.)
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp cayenne (to taste)
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp cracked pepper
  • c cole slaw mix
  • 3 T mayonnaise
  • 1 T lime juice
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • c chopped cilantro
  • ½ tsp sugar (optional)
  • ¼ tsp sea salt (to taste)
  • ¼ tsp cracked pepper
  • Tortillas (flour or corn)
  • Extra lime juice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F and spray the basket with a light coat of oil.
  2. Combine spices in a bowl: chili powder, oregano, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, onion powder, cumin, sea salt, and cracked pepper.
  3. Pat the fish dry with paper towels and lay it in the air fryer basket.
  4. Brush olive oil over the fish and sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over it.
  5. Cook in the preheated air fryer for about 8-10 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily.
  6. Mix together slaw ingredients: cole slaw mix, mayonnaise, lime juice, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  7. Remove the fish from the air fryer and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
  8. Load the fish into warm tortillas and top with the slaw and extra lime juice.

Notes

Pair with black beans, Spanish rice, or guacamole. You can customize the spice levels and use various types of slaw if desired.
