Description

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of soft bread (brioche or challah)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (whole or almond)
  • 1/2 cup cherry pie filling
  • Powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blend the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Whisk together the eggs and milk until airy and fluffy.
  4. Cut the bread into thick slices, about 1-inch wide.
  5. Layer half of the bread slices in a greased baking dish.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the first layer of bread.
  7. Top with remaining bread slices.
  8. Pour the egg mixture over the entire bread layers, soaking for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Spread the cherry pie filling over the top.
  10. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
