A refreshing summer beverage balancing sweet strawberries and tangy lemons, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients

- 1/2 to 1 cup white granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- Zest from 2 lemons
- 1 cup water
- 1 1/2 lbs fresh strawberries
- 1 1/2 cups lemon juice
- 2 cups ice cubes
- 6 cups water
- 1 cup strawberries (sliced)
- 2 large lemons (sliced)
Instructions
- Combine 1 cup of water and 1/2 to 1 cup of granulated sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the zest from 2 lemons to the syrup and let it simmer gently.
- Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Juice 1 1/2 cups of lemons while the syrup cools.
- Wash and hull 1 1/2 pounds of strawberries, then puree them in a blender until smooth.
- Combine the cooled lemon syrup, lemon juice, and 6 cups of water in a large pitcher. Stir well.
- Add the pureed strawberries and mix until incorporated.
- Add 2 cups of ice cubes and garnish with sliced strawberries and lemons.
Notes
For a fizzy twist, consider adding soda water instead of plain water before serving to create a sparkling strawberry lemonade.
