- 4 cups of cubed bread (brioche, baguette, or challah)
- 2 cups of whole milk
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- Butter for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
- Combine the cubed bread with the custard mixture, stirring gently to coat.
- Let it sit for about 10 minutes to soak up the custard.
- Bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before serving warm, optionally topped with whipped cream or caramel sauce.
Notes
For best results, use day-old bread and feel free to customize with chocolate chips or fresh fruit.
