Description

A delightful fusion of brownies and cookies, brookies are rich, fudgy, and crispy, offering the best of both worlds in every bite.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan liberally.
  2. Combine the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl, beating until creamy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Fold the dry mix into the butter mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
  8. Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  9. Mix the remaining brown sugar, flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then stir in the melted butter.
  10. Fold in the rest of the chocolate chips and spread this cookie dough over the brownie layer.
  11. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
  12. Cool before cutting into delightful bars.
