Description

A rich, layered dessert featuring chocolate cake, pudding, and whipped topping, drizzled with caramel and topped with chocolate chips and nuts.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix package.
  2. Grease your 9×13-inch pan generously to prevent any sticking.
  3. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions and pour the batter into the pan, spreading it evenly.
  4. Bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cake to cool completely, about an hour.
  6. Whisk together the instant chocolate pudding with 1 cup of milk in a mixing bowl and let it set for about 5 minutes.
  7. Poke holes all over the cooled cake using a skewer or wooden spoon handle.
  8. Pour the thickened chocolate pudding over the cake, ensuring it fills the holes.
  9. Spread the whipped topping over the pudding layer.
  10. Drizzle the caramel sauce generously over the top.
  11. Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped nuts on top if desired.
  12. Cover the cake and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
