Description

Crispy Chicken and Hot Honey combines the crunchiness of fried chicken with the sweet and spicy kick of hot honey, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • ½ cup honey
  • 12 teaspoons red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken breasts: Soak the chicken in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. Prepare the flour mixture: Whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Heat the oil: Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep pan or fryer.
  4. Dredge the chicken: Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge in the flour mixture, shaking off excess coating.
  5. Fry the chicken: Cook chicken pieces in the hot oil for 6-8 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Prepare the hot honey: Warm honey with red pepper flakes in a small saucepan until integrated.
  7. Serve it up: Drizzle hot honey over crispy chicken before serving.

Notes

For a less sweet version, consider using maple syrup or agave nectar for the hot honey.
