Description

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add in the eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gradually, mixing just until combined.
  6. Spread the dough evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly golden. Test with a toothpick.
  8. Make the frosting by beating together cream cheese and butter until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla.
  9. Frost the cooled bars and cut into squares to serve.
