Description

A nostalgic recipe for Homemade Spaghettios with tender meatballs in rich tomato sauce, perfect for cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 1 cup of pasta (small shapes like elbow macaroni or miniature spaghetti)
  • 1 pound of ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 cup of water
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the meatballs: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well-blended and form into small meatballs.
  2. Cook the meatballs: In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Create the sauce: Pour in the tomato sauce and water. Bring to a simmer and scrape any brown bits from the pot.
  4. Add the pasta: Stir in the pasta and cook according to package instructions, about 8-10 minutes, until tender.
  5. Serve and enjoy: Ladle into bowls and sprinkle with parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare meatballs ahead and refrigerate, or freeze for later use. Stir occasionally while cooking to prevent sticking.
