- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for toasting buns
Instructions
- Caramelize the onions: Heat a large skillet over medium heat, add oil or butter and sliced onions. Cook for 10-15 minutes until deep golden brown.
- Brown the beef: Push onions aside and add ground beef, breaking it apart until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
- Add flavor: Pour in beef broth and sprinkle onion soup mix. Stir and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Season: Taste and season with salt and pepper.
- Toast the buns: In a small pan, toast the hamburger buns with butter until golden brown.
- Assemble: Spoon beef mixture onto bottom half of buns, top with shredded provolone.
- Serve and enjoy: Cap with top bun and dive into every delicious bite.
