Description

A delicious breakfast casserole featuring flaky croissants, savory sausage, and gooey cheese, soaked in a rich custard and topped with warm gravy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 Flaky Croissants, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 8 Large Eggs
  • 1 lb Breakfast Sausage
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese (sharp cheddar and Monterey Jack)
  • 2 cups Gravy (homemade or store-bought)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the croissants by tearing them into pieces.
  3. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Whisk together the eggs, salt, and pepper until frothy.
  5. Combine the croissant pieces and cooked sausage in a baking dish, then pour the egg mixture over top.
  6. Chill the mixture overnight in the refrigerator, covered tightly.
  7. Bake the casserole in the morning for 30-35 minutes until set and golden brown.
  8. Serve warm, drizzled with gravy.

Notes

Opt for stale croissants for the best texture. This casserole can be prepared the night before for ease on busy mornings.
