Description

Indulge in these rich and chewy salted caramel chocolate chip cookie bars that combine the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the room-temperature butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy—about 3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually incorporate this into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and salted caramel sauce gently.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown at the edges and slightly soft in the center.
  8. Cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature butter and avoid overmixing the dough.
