Description

A delightful pizza experience combining spicy sausage, creamy ricotta, and sweet hot honey for a perfect balance of flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1 ball of pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or crushed San Marzano tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked spicy Italian sausage (crumbled)
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Hot honey, for drizzling
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
  2. Prepare your dough on a floured surface, rolling it out to your desired thickness.
  3. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a parchment-lined pizza peel or baking sheet.
  4. Layer the pizza sauce evenly over the dough base, followed by sprinkling the mozzarella cheese, and adding the crumbled sausage on top.
  5. Creamy finishing touch: spoon dollops of ricotta, scatter red pepper flakes, and drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Bake the pizza for 10–12 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  7. Drizzle with hot honey, garnish with basil, slice, and serve.

Notes

Make the dough up to 2 days in advance and store in the fridge. Rotate the pizza halfway through baking for even cooking.
