Description

A comforting and delicious stovetop applesauce made with fresh apples and warm spices, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine chopped apples with ½ cup of water in a large pot.
  2. Bring the mixture to a lively boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce heat and cover the pot, allowing the apples to simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice if desired once the apples become soft.
  5. Use a potato masher for a chunky texture or blend with an immersion blender for a smoother sauce.
  6. Enjoy immediately or let it cool before refrigerating.
